Hello,

I'm a 2nd semester college freshman and by the end of this semester I'll have taken the following courses:

Poli Sci
Intro to Writing
Intro to Literature
Intro to Economics
Intro to Psych
Chemistry I
Calculus I
Physics I (Calc-based)* I might have to do credit/no credit

I'm doing poorly in physics and I'm very aware that my study habits are crap so I'm trying really hard to fix that. I've started doing better in math after having a bad high school track record. (I'm liking math just like when I did when I was younger!) Also, I loved physics in high school and even though I'm dying in it right now, it doesn't fail to amaze me, but it does succeed to intimidate me. I like doing number crunching and things of that sort so finance would be a good career.

I'm trying to decide between an engineering degree (the field doesn't matter as of right now) and a finance degree. I'm having such a tough time deciding what course of action I should take without wasting more time. I go to CUNY Hunter so it does not offer engineering or finance majors but that isn't a problem since transferring between CUNYs isn't a big issue.

I'm not asking what I should major in because I know that no one can decide that but myself. BUT I would just like some help on what I should do to figure out if I like engineering vs. finance without wasting another two semesters. Considering this happened right now, I wouldn't be surprised if my next semester is wasted. Should I dive head into engineering and get a taste of that field or should I just start the finance track?

Thanks in advance! :)
