Engineering Majors:Is this too many credits for the quarter for an incoming freshmen?

Math 20A
Chem 6A
ECE 15
CAT 1
HITO 87
ENG 1

Credit hours equal 18

Please let me load what they think of this class load? Is it manageable or should I drop something and take it the 2nd quarter.

that seems manageable but i think thats more than i would care to take. those are all good classes that i would want to take right away too. but still, i’d cut one out. if it were my first year i’d want to take it easy and enjoy myself.

Which one would you recommend I drop? Is ENG 1 helpful at all? What about HITO 87? HITO87 is only for 4 weeks. If I were to drop one I was thinking either ENG1 of HITO 87.

I took Math20B, ECE15, Chem6a, and Mus15 my first quarter and I felt like that should be the max for me my first quarter. It might depend on how you were in high school but I definitely was not use to the workload in college.

i didnt take eng 1. seems like a waste of time. but i think its only 1 unit and 1 day a week right? dropping it wont make much of a difference in your workload. if hito 87 is offered in the winter then i’d take it then

I always recommend keeping the classes you have to start and seeing if you want to drop any after the first couple of weeks. It’s always easier to do that then to realize that you actually could have taken an extra class.

^^good point. since you already have the classes might as well get a feel for them

Thanks for all the replies. I will keep the classes I have now and see how it is after the first two weeks. Thanks again ;)
