Hi Everyone,

I've read a bit of the engineering school discussions which have been useful but I still have many questions I was hoping to get some feedback on. First off I'm writing as a parent vs. the student but just completed a grad degree myself so I'm fresh in the college experience. I was wondering if anyone had any opinions/feedback on the engineering program at Mercer University in terms of quality and recognition. I know it is not as recognized as Ga Tech but I was wondering if it recognized anywhere outside of Ga? Also, I'm interested in hearing about safety issues and quality of life (any fun, etc) at Ga Tech. I realize that engineering by nature is more difficult and demanding but there has to be some "down time" as well. I've also been hearing a great deal about students losing their Hope Scholarship (Ga free tuition) in the first year at Tech more than at the other schools - any comments on that would be welcome as well. If one ends up paying out of pocket, it might be worth while to choose a different college. Thanks.
