What do you find to be the best engineering schools around the Northeast? (besides MIT of course). I seem to find a lot of them out around CA, but do not want to move to that part of the country. And what about an engineering school for a girl who wants to have a little fun too?

Olin is comparable to MIT maybe even Caltech in its caliber of students
and teachign environment from my limited research.

I am not sure of other names though a lot are mentioned int he northeast

:)

Tell you what - I'll post what I know of your area, you tell me what good ones are out here in California. Just today I found this little gem for a few Maryland colleges.

This one, University System of Maryland Home - USM
It links to the following.
Search Major

Now, just plug in your engineering major (Specific, too. ie, Electical Engineering), and out of the 11 colleges in that system, it will tell you the ones that have it, as well as what level of degree you can get.

I found it useful, and would hope I can find more states that operate the same kind of website.

That last one, long, is useful as well. Alphabetical order isn't awesome, but there is the part where it lists colleges by engineering major on the left.

Hopefully this helps, or I am screwed too.

An "easier" school would be Lehigh. It's engineering program is somewhat known throughout the northeast, and I believe it's known to be a "fun" school.

Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey. It is in Hoboken, NJ where all the young yuppies live who work in NYC because it is right across the river. There are a lot of bars there and it is only a fifteen minute Path ride to NYC if you like clubs.

Rochester is okay, RPI, RIT. Cornel, Columbia.

in no particular order

MIT
Cornell
Princeton
Carnegie Mellon
U Rochester
Columbia
Penn
RPI
Lehigh
Penn State
U Maryland College Park
RIT
