My son is a junior in HS, and considering RIT.

He's a hands-on learner, and told me that he doesn't want to sit behind a desk all day. Although he's pretty good at math, he's also the type who would probably get bored doing the level of mathematical analysis that an engineering curriculum requires. He'd rather make something.

I was wondering how the engineering technology curriculum compares with the engineering curriculum. How much time is spent in the lab in ET, as compared with engineering? How much math and complex analysis is there?

Is the workload heavier in engineering, or is it merely different (my son would probably be happier working in a lab at 2AM than doing a physics problem set).

If anyone can help with explaining the difference, that would help.
