Hi : )
I was admitted into Clark school of Engineering. I put my major as Engineering- Undecided because I wasn't sure if I want to to do Computer engineering or Chemical engineering! And I'm still unsure ...
So are there many people who opts Undecided?
And I dont have any idea how it will be like ... So is it like I'm free to chose from Computer Engineering or Chemical Engineering? Can somebody provide me more insights on this?
Thank you so much ....

My acceptance says undecided as well, since I put aeronautical and mechanical on my application. I have been under the impression that getting into the school itself is the “hard part,” and undecided people can choose freely within the engineering school.

Any info. from students who go to UMD currently would be helpful more me, too though. :)

umm, looks like I can decide. I saw in the University website - Internal transfers with the Engineering has no requirements except for Bioengineering.

"
How soon do I need to declare my major?
Engineering students are encouraged to select their major or engineering specialization as soon as possible but must choose no later than the end of their third semester.

Engineering students can change major within the School of Engineering by simply submitting an Internal Major Change form."

Chemical is very hard, so if you did not take ap chem in high school I would highly recommend trying something else. Although chem is very hard for most students, all of the majors are hard and computer engineering can be just as difficult. I suggest that you take an class called UNIV 100 which is one credit and it introduces you to all of the majors. I took the class and it was very informative.

Hope this helps!
