what kinds of engineering should i do with economics.. considering i enjoy economics more.. and would be doing a double major..
any ideas?

Are you spending 5 years?

I suggest Industrial E. Economics jives with productivity!

Industrial engineering is kind of like economics.

I’m not an engineer but I know the broad definition of the different engineering disciplines.

Industrial- This is a very, very good idea and something I’m currently looking into myself. Having an economics major I think could really separate you from other Industrial engineers looking for the same jobs.

An economics degree in these next three disciplines I think would really help you understand why you’re doing what you’re doing in regards to what you’re making and where you’re making it.

Civil

Materials

Computer Hardware

Industrial engineering would be a very good field for you if you like econ!

Materials engineering has very, very little to do with economics. It may share some of the same general economic concerns that all engineering majors share but it definitely does not stand out. Ditto for EE/CompE.

He’s not looking for an engineering that is similar to economics. He wants something that will go well with economics

Thanks a lot for your replies guys!
Well, on one hand industrial engineering seems to be a very good option… but its similar to economics … so i’m keen on doing it;… but not sure…

And, what kind of jobs can one do after these majors… and then doing MBA or something in their post grad?

How is IE similar to economics? I’m an econ nerd myself and I’ve never heard that. Economics is a “social science,” a method of analyzing the decisions people make, don’t confuse an economics major with a business major.
