How many quarters of English must one take in order to fulfill the medical schools' requirement ?

3 quarters = 1 year

What is an easy/good english class i could take for my first quarter ?

Well, if you haven’t completed the Writing I requirement you should take English comp 3. It’s pretty much the intro writing class at UCLA. Not hard at all.

Sorry for changing the topic but I’m not that good of a writer and would like to improve my writing and analyzing skills. Is Eng composition 3 a good course to take? Actually I am exempted from the writting requirment because of my SAT writting score so if any of you can name any other eng courses that would be a great help.

pssssssssssssssssssh guys!

speaking of english and the writing placement exam :)

it said i passed! but it didn’t give me a score or anything so how do I know what type of writing class I will be placed into?

There’s only one Writing I course: Eng Comp 3.

ooooooooooooooooh :)

thanks!

man, how are you guys so informed. :(? I feel very lost at times.

Could someone give me some common english classes people take their first quarter in order to meet the english requirement for med schools ? I am unsure as to what i should take =/

do you need a full year of writing 2 classes? or will just english comp 3 be enough?

you dont take english your first quarter. im going to push all my english classes to senior year or take them at a CC the summer before senior year (after my transcripts are processed for apps). i dont even want to deal with writing/english classes…theyre ****ing stupid

well i kind of want to get it out of the way. english isn’t that bad to me. Can someone please tell me what class I should take =[

i’ve already read that list and checked the classes, but what I am asking is recommendations from people that have already taken these classes and were in the same situation as I am.
Plus, this list is only a list of writing classes, not literature classes.
Thanks for the help anyway bannana_girl.

did you look at that link?

what link ?

you never specified literature classes, you asked for easy/good/common english classes. and that list isn’t full of just writing classes. the whole Comp Lit (Comparative Literature) is chock full of it, English 10A and 10B, HC 46W…

i took Comp Lit 2W, but it was very reading intensive (hence literature). i switched to Eng 4W; it’s mainly poetry, but analyzing prose was more interesting for me. 4W and 100W will be impacted due to it being required classes for English majors. other friends have recommended Ancient Near East 10W as well.
