does anyone know the anything bout the strength of the english and womens studies depts. at BMC? i was searching thru their course catalogs and it seemed to me that those depts. didnt have as many interesting classes as the depts. in the other sister colleges.

My friends that are taking concentrations in gender/sexuality seem to enjoy it, but I haven't taken any of those particular classes yet.

The English department has plenty of classes and plenty of choices- make sure you look at Haverford's (and possibly Swarthmore and maybe University of Pennsylvania) choices as well. Haverford's classes are very easy to sign up for- you do it in the same way as a Bryn Mawr class, with no special procedure. Swarthmore and UPenn are a bit more difficult but still very possible- all my roommates are taking at least one class at Hav and one is taking a class at UPenn too and we're only second semester freshman.

Also- although looking at the course catalog is a good step to make, it's VERY VERY difficult to tell if a class is going to be interesting based on the name. Looking at the catalog is better suited to seeing if BMC has classes in a particular field, I think.
