ENGR 1150 vs 1160 vs 2080

Since I am planning on going into chemical engineering at this point, I don't need to take the normal second semester general engineering courses that all other engineering majors have to. However, due to the amount of credit that I brought into college, following my degree plan leaves me with only 7 credits hours next fall, which is, of course, far below full time status. Even if I were to take thermodynamics a semester early or take a course towards a minor, I still fall short (not to mention I think it will be a lot easier to take my CHE classes on schedule with the rest of the chem e majors).

I want to take a design course for my own interests (CAD design to use later for automotive applications, possibly solidworks as well). So, for those of you who have taken these classes, which would be the best for learning the software, and which could be best put towards machining, etc? I also love architecture, so the solidworks class that touches on that would also be of interest.

I'm sure I could take some easy gen eds to get up to full time status, but I would much rather use the free time to take some sort of design course instead of trying to teach myself the software on top of everything else.

Thanks for any input

seems like they’ve really shaken up the general engineering curriculum/courses since I went through the program 5 years ago - I don’t recognize any of the course titles or names so I’m not exactly what would be best or what each course entails. You have the unique opportunity of having some freedom of choice - something many students wouldn’t have so take advantage of it and take something that you’re interested in doing. Doesn’t even have to be engineering but something you’d enjoy. (I wouldn’t take an easy gen ed just to get ahead IMO)
