Entrepreneurship at UF

Hello,

I was admitted to UF this February and am strongly considering attending. I have also been admitted to Babson College, which is ranked #1 in Entrepreneurship across the boards. Both are strong schools and are similarly difficult to get into, but I am weighing the opportunities I will have to collaborate innovatively and start my own company at each school. Has anyone taken the credits for an Entrepreneurship Minor? Is anyone taking classes toward an Entrepreneurship Major? If so how has the experience been and does it really prepare you for real world application?
Also, has anyone been involved in extra-curricular related Entrepreneurship activities such as the “Big Idea” contest, the Entrepreneurship club, or the Innovation hub?

Thank you,
Grant

Hi Grant! I have taken a few classes toward that minor. I took up the minor because it was only a few classes and it sounded interesting, but I don’t personally plan on being an entrepreneur so I don’t know how much this will help. All of the classes have been really interesting so far. I know there are a few classes that you actually develop a business plan for. If you search for UF business syllabi on Google, you can find the syllabi for some of the classes. All of the entrepreneurship classes have the ENT course code. This might give you a better idea of whether or not you would be interested in these classes. I know UF has a lot of entrepreneurship resources, so I would definitely reach out to their offices for any specific questions you have. I have liked the minor and have heard good things about the other entrepreneurship programs. Hope this helps!
