Hello,

I'm currently an upper sophomore at City College of New York (CUNY) enrolled in the division of science. My major at the moment is EESS (Environmental Earth systems science as they call it ). I've already taken a few major classes and I'm pretty interested in the field. I'm most probably going to concentrate on hydrology. However; I had a few questions regarding my major recently. What is the scope of someone with this major in the market currently and in the upcoming years? I would appreciate any advise/comments/job experiences, etc.. from current Earth science/Geology/Env. Engineering Majors? Also how is the Industry for International students because I am one!.?

Also I'm not sure if employers are aware of my major because I had never heard of it myself before I applied to college? because usually the students that score entry level jobs in the environmental field mostly have Civil/Environmental Eng. or Geology/Environmental Science degrees.. I recently heard that Stanford now has a EESS program so hopefully employers know now.

Also I'm thinking about transferring into the grove school of engineering at my college for Environmental Engineering. Which is a better option? The BS in EESS or a BE in Env. Engineering? And how much difference will it actually make because the first 2-3 years of both programs are almost the same in my college.

Thank You!
