EOP Program

Hi, I have been provisionally accepted, and under Step 1 of accepting my offer of admission, it states the following:

I understand that EOP is a positive thing and is something that would help me, but I don’t remember expressing any interest in it, so I am wondering if UCSC automatically offers it to anyone who is eligible?

It lists “Successfully complete the EOP Bridge Program and fulfill the terms of the ‘Bridge Contract.’” as one of the Conditions of Admission, which makes it look like I have to participate in it, and I am concerned about #2 as listed above; I don’t think I would be able to (or really want to, honestly) attend the summer program.

Does anyone have any experience with this or have information regarding EOP? Thank you very much. :)

call them and ask.

Oh yeah, I received a letter yesterday, and it has more info on the program. If anyone is curious, yeah, it is one of my Conditions of Admission because I guess I was borderline when they reviewed my app, but was admitted on the terms that I complete the program.

SC is the only UC that will check each student's application for EOP eligibility. If you can get it, DEFINITELY be a part of the program. I don't know if Bridge is required, but everyone I know who's participated has come away with positive reactions. Call the appropriate office and ask...
