Is anyone on here an EP&E major? If so, can you provide more information about the major? I looked on the website but it only seems to give a very generalized overview.
Thanks!

Well…nobody seems to have answered your question, so FWIW…
IMO, the website gives very specific info. Did you look at this page? http://epe.yale.edu/undergraduate-information/requirements-major
My Yalie kid did EP&E some time ago. My info may be out of date. But here are a couple of things I think you should know:
EP&E is a selective major. About half of those who apply are accepted. I’m not claiming that it’s impossible to get into it–it’s not. However, you should be aware that there is no guarantee that you will.
You apply for EP&E near the end of your third semester. This means that you have to decide to do this about a semester before you would otherwise choose your major. It also means that you more or less have to take at least a couple of prerequisites during your first year. This isn’t a hard and fast rule, but --unless you’re in DS, which meets one of the requirements, it’s very rare–at least from what I’ve seen–for someone who hasn’t taken at least some prereqs and done well in them during freshman year to be accepted. It IS possible to get into EP&E with a less than stellar grade in a course or two, but it you take one of the required intro courses and end up with a B- your odds of being admitted are slim.
There are a lot of seminars. Discussion is important. If you don’t like discussion, you might not enjoy the major, even if you are interested in the subject matter. At least when my kid was at Yale, a disproportionate percentage of EP&E majors were involved in things like Model UN, YPU, Debate, Mock Trial, etc. Not every EP& E major is involved in one of those ECs, but many are. EP&E tends to attract people who enjoy those sorts of activities.
I know you wanted a current student who is majoring in EP&E to answer, but I hope the above helps a bit.
