There is a big gap between your match and reach schools. You might end up getting shut out of all of them? If so would you be happy attending your safety?
It sounds like you are. But you might have some second thoughts later. Have you thought about applying to schools in between your reach and match? Schools in the 25-40 range. Some names which come to mind: William & Mary, USC, Emory, Michigan, Wake Forest, Rochester. These are all wonderful schools and you might get into several of them. Not necessarily a better education vs UMASS, but it would be worth exploring.

If you’re interested in grad school for econ, then look at a major which is heavy into mathematics. A mathematics bachelors degree would be very valuable.
