Can anyone tell me about how active this club is? I saw its website but the info there seems to be all from the 06-07 school year. This is yet another of Scripps' many selling points for my horse-lover.

Mine too!!

Well, you learn something new every day...I don't think I ever saw/heard anything about this organization (though I was aware of equestrian PE courses + a few individual riders)! I think I was just out of the loop, though, because the group's website makes it seem pretty strong and active:

As a member of the Equestrian Team, riders are encouraged to, but not required to show. They attend weekly meetings, help at fundraisers, join in on Equestrian Team activities, and take lessons with either our huntseat or western riding instructors.

Historymom: The website is current enough that info should still be relevant (don't worry too much about the lack off update...I'm still impressed that the group has a site...it's ahead of the vast majority of CLORG's!). The roster doesn't include any '07 or '11 students, so it's a year old at the worst. The contact info should still be good, but if it's not, I'd recommend having your daughter's send facebook messages to a few of the Scripps students on the roster (might be a good idea anyway). If facebooking feels too creepy (I can't imagine the students minding, though), you could try writing to admissions and seeing if they can put you in touch with any involved students (you might even include the roster in case any of those students work or have contacts in admissions).

Point is: it should definitely be possible to get first-hand info, even if none turns up here :)

Sorry I can't be more helpful myself. Good luck with the search!

I swear shrinkrap Our Ds are cut from the same cloth!!!

Thanks Student615. I'll suggest the facebook idea. My D will be attending soccer camp there this summer so maybe she can talk to the coach. We'll see what we can work out.
