Just out of my paranoia, how sensitively do the answer sheets get scanned? There were a couple of choices that I erased, and the bubbles were still faintly darker than a non-bubbled one. Is this something to worry about (and thus maybe request a hand-grading), or are the SAT grading machines good enough to tell apart most erase marks?

Dont worry about it. This happens to me every time but the machine always gets the answer that I put last.

Is it fine if I used a cheap dollarstore no.2 pencil that wasn’t as dark and crisp as a actual Staples pencil? Like some of my marks were pretty bad lol

Ah that’s good to hear, thx for confirmation

On the AP Euro exam, I accidentally filled out all of my MC questions and my contact info with a Number 3 pencil. I got my scores, and I got a 5. I think you’ll be fine.

on another note, is it fine that i used a mechanical pencil? i’ve used the same lead for ap’s and it’s always been fine…but i noticed it specifically said DO NOT USE A MECHANICAL PENCIL on top of every page =/

It’s fine; I always used a mechanical pencil and didn’t erase fully sometimes. I did fine…

What if your pencil wrote too lightly on the essay? Will it still scan correctly?

@ Noitaraperp , did you score 2400?
