Just wondering if anyone talks about SAT/ACT scores in their essays? With all the test optional/blind I was wondering if it is bad to talk about maybe a subject score in an essay?
I think talking about your test scores is a little meta for a personal statement. You would be further analyzing yourself as a student, which is the AO’s job. It doesn’t really give the AO any insight into who you are as a person, which is what they’re looking for in your essay. Best of luck with writing your essays!
No, you do not need to (nor is it recommended) to talk about you SAT/ACT scores in essays. The essays are meant to provide further information about yourself—not a regurgitation of your resume. Just make sure to send official scores if necessary.
thanks that is what I thought, but if a school is test blind I wondered if it would help or hurt to mention scores.
No. A hundred times no. No AO wants to read about this.
Don’t do it!! Scores may qualify you, but essays should be used to highlight your qualities as an applicant/future student, not your academic capabilities which are shown through your GPA/test scores.
