<p>I am not sure if this is the right way to do it, but I plan on submitting at around 520 words for one of my college essays. Several people I asked said that the limit is only in place so that people don’t turn in crazy long essays. Usually, 500 words is about a page. So as long as my essay is a page long and within 20-30 words, I would keep it (assuming nothing extraneous can be cut out). But I am just a senior applying, so I’m in this with you!</p>
