Just wondering if you had any idea what the admission's counselors tend to put more emphasis on. My Common App Essay, while its extremely unique and cleverly presented, I don't think is superb. But my Yale essay, I think fit their general guidelines perfectly, was very genuine, and presented a really unique side of me. So I was wondering if you guys know/think the essays are emphasized equally or if one or the other is more important to them. And also, how much do the short takes, why Yale, and short common app factor in (and I just discovered I made one typo in my short common app essay, ugggggghhh!!) I realize they're all important, but I'm just asking for your thoughts. Because while the transcript is the most important, I feel that essays are continuing to gain importance when everyone has amazing transcripts and how they can get a feel of your passions and what you can bring to.

You’re asking an objective question for a subjective examination. No one can tell you. If something jumps out from either essay, then it’s good. If nothing jumps out, then not good. Who can say?

What’s done is done. If you’re even a half-way viable Yale candidate, you’ll have plenty of reasons to celebrate come April 1, regardless of what schools accept you.

Best of luck to you
