essay word limit

ok when they say 500 words…is it ok to have like 515 ahaha…i know common sense question, but i cant cut it down!

I have the same problem lol....15 words is DEFINITELY okay. No admissions officer in their right mind would care that you went over by 15 words.

oo man idk wut id do! I had 604 last night and i worked all day to get it down to 515 aha

It's ok to go over a little, but not much. The general rule is about a page single-spaced.

This is a quote from Yale's website:

My essays are more than 500 words each. Is that OK?

We ask that you respect the word limits we suggest – we say "about 500 words." Will we read the words beyond 500? Yes. But if your essays are much longer than 500 words, understand that you will not help yourself by seeming to have ignored our request.
