<p>When colleges ask on their essay, how can you contribute to their school, how can you bring diversity, what makes you unique, what exactly are they asking for? yea, i'm a minority but what else? do they just want a summary of my extra-circ activities? how can i state it in a way that makes me unique?</p>
<p>They want to know how this diversity has affected your life and made you different than the next person. Do you know something that someone else does not. Would you act or do something differently than other people. Why? How? For example, my daughter is a very typical teenager - no ethnic diversity, but she has a learning disability that she has over come by following a very specific diet. She wrote about how she learned about nutrition and how people are affected by their environment.</p>
