I'm in college and in California. We care because we know how the society works and we know that guys don't pick pink shirts like every other shirt color. That's just how it is in this culture. Therefore wearing pink is something that's a very conscious decision...so we critique the hell out of it :p Same thing with popped collars. Those things don't magically stick up!

And yes, pink has been around for at least 6-7 years old in California (I'm not old enough to go past that).

I'd have to agree with the popped collar argument; the people who do that essentially fit the stereotype very well.

And some who wear pink are likely doing it for the same reason people pop their collars, but others (probably the minority, but still some) may do it because it's not overly common, and just something to change up the norm.

"First of all it isn't gay if it's not done everyday"

This statement is interesting.. I've personally never seen a gay guy wear pink everyday, not even close..

but aside from that.. you're using a flawed argument.. saying that an attitude makes someone an idiot and not the color of his shirt is not whats being debated here.. its whether idiots wear that particular color. Ergo, the pink doesnt turn one into an idiot, the idiot goes and buys pink.

Second.. back to my original statement. Why would wearing pink everyday make you gay over wearing it a couple of days? As mentioned previously gay people in general don't wear pink every day so why would doing something uncharacteristic of gay people make one gay?

On the other hand saying that just wearing pink, period, makes more sense assuming gay people wear pink once in a while thus sharing that characteristic (which is uncharacteristic of the general straight population) with the "straight guy" who does so too.

to do as above-
Just as a disclaimer: I'm not gay, I don't wear pink shirts, and I don't think pink shirts are gay. That post above was just senseless and I had to argue.

I guess I was using the term "gay" in a more general sense than purely homosexual. Others saying people are "gay" for wearing pink when they're straight, you know, that kind of gay.

I'm just suggesting that not ALL guys who wear pink are necessarily immature idiots who just want to be "cool". It seems perfectly reasonable to me to wear it just because it's different than what one might normally wear. Then again, our environments may just be different, I for one have found that not only the "collar popping" kids wear it occasionally. And for those who do wear pink constantly, those are the ones who are very insecure or plain stupid, not really homosexual.

OKay...so back to the original question and not all of this nonsense about pink polos.. lol

I love guys in black or white polos. They just look simple and clean and you really cannot go wrong with those colors so consider those :-) Also it depends on your skin color! If you are dark skinned maybe look into the browns and tans that compliment your skin and if you are fair skinned maybe the light blues and reds.

im in California and whena guy is wearing bright pink we all gossip about how **** he looks. im a guy and if it gets the ladies, so be it.

even if it does get ladies and it is the new "it" item for the year im not buying it cuz its straight up homo.
and yes...all the douches pop their collars.

"hah i wouldn't think of texans as rednecks, it's more arkansas, east tennessee, alabama, and mississippi where you're gonna find rednecks. texas isn't even really considered a southern state, it's kind of just it's own place that's different from everywhere else"

Are you kidding? Ever heard of President Bush?

i hate the stigma of living in texas. everyone thinks we ride horses to work, wear cowboy hats, and hunt all the time. god damn you george bush.

"hate the stigma of living in texas. everyone thinks we ride horses to work, wear cowboy hats, and hunt all the time. god damn you george bush."

You mean you don't? ;)

Bush was born in CT.

Oh, and I'm from ARKANSAS. You think YOU have a problem?

not sure how its George Bush's fault.... all the Texas shows, Chuck Norris, and the only person i know from Texas lives on a Ranch and wears a cowboy hat every where makes my stereo type of Texas some what accurate.

oh course he has. and he plays the whole religious part too..in order to get those much needed crazy christian votes..without those silly morons..he never would be in office.

:) But seriously, I think pink is an awesome color, and anyone who dabbles on about how the color is gayyy... just isnt worth anyones time. Wear what you like, wear what looks good, and for a fact, pink does look good (on some maybe not...)

Besides pink, navy blue is a favorite of mine. ^_^ Bright green, striped yellow and white, gosh the list can go on..

tallkell: Nah, it's that 62,040,610 people in America are tired of a small fraction of the other 59,028,111 being condescending liberal douchebags and thinking that all 62,040,610 of them are "morons." The party "for the people" needs to realize that calling a majority of "the people" morons doesn't bode well for vote totals. Jackass.

This thread is bears a testament to the amount of idiocy on these forums. You guys spent 10 pages discussing whether ****ing pink polos were gay or not. Get a life metrosexual pansies. The next person to call Bush an idiot better have graduated from Yale and Harvard.
