Everyone applies to the same place

It seems that everyone in my school is applying to the same schools I am. I go to an extremely tough public HS in PA with classes sizes of about 350. Will it hurt my chances that 10-15 students are appyling to each of the schools I am? (UVa, Georgetown, UMich). I have good stats for these schools (all match/high match) but I'm worried the schools will get saturated with similar kids. Thanks

I have the same problem with my school.
Everyone is applying to Tufts, BU, & Brown.

Well here’s my take on this issue. I feel that you will be better off applying to other similar-caliber schools than the ones your classmates are applying to. You obviously decrease your chances of getting into one of these schools if 15 of your friends are applying there. However, I do know of schools from which many students have gotten into a top college. It will be less of a problem if the colleges aren’t at the top. For example, BU is cosiderably less easeir to get into than Tufts and Brown. Therefore, BU will take most of the candidates if they are qualified. However, for the other two, diversity and the other little factors are the things that MAY determine an admissions decision. So they will prefer students from different schools.
