Everyone comes to a point in there life when

creativity is genetic?

thats the biggest load of crap ive ever heard

just off the top of my head: creative individuals from a non-creative families

charles dickens-born to naval pay clerks

ludwig van beethoven-born to alcoholic peasants

leonardo da vinci-illigitimate son of poor young lawyer and his slave

the theory that the abilities of normal, healthy homo sapiens are determined by genes is idiotic. i know plenty of individuals, including myself, who come from families with mediocre intellectual and creative abilities, but yet we're very creative and successful in every way.

its not about genes kids!

It depends on how determined you are! Not on genes. =] I'm with finemeal onthis one. x]

I find this true many times. :/

So? Just set different goals in life

I used to get frustrated by it. And then I realized that being the best isn’t the point.

^ But it is the point.

It’s not. At least not for me. Being the best is nothing more than a means to an end, and I’ve found that there are better ways to accomplish the actual goal, which is happiness.

good stuff ApatheticLove

When I see a taller skinnier girl, I want to be taller and skinnier. But I don’t want to be her.
When I see a friendly outgoing person, I want to be approchable like them. But I don’t want to be that person.
When I see a creative intelligent person, I want to be just as smart. But I don’t want to be them.
See where I’m going? I often come across situations when I envy a quality somebody else has, yet I wouldn’t abandon myself for that. Kind of stupid in a way…

omg amazing necro Grisam

hazmat is a pretty good old-timey poster, and crayon is like the first HSLer :b

just because there are people better than you doesn’t mean you are completely mediocre/worthless.

also, they say creativity is just knowing how to hide your sources.
