So I qualify for the the excelsior scholarship, which is supposed to cover tuiton at a SUNY or CUNY college and while free college sounds nice, I dont have to be forced to stay in NY for however many years I receive aid.
After my undergraduate, I plan to teach english in Japan for 1-2 years and then come back and get my masters and/or doctorate in psychology, so I dont want to waste years of my life staying in NY and then not being able to go to Japan because life happens.
I definitely don’t have the money to pay for any part of college so anything that isn’t covered by other scholarships, has to be taken out as a loan. Since I plan to attend further schooling, I want to keep loans minimal.
So what I’m wondering is whether or not they would even know if I was in Japan working or if I just put my main address as my parents in NY is that counted. Does anyone know how they check that??
