With your son’s academic record, I forgot to mention Northeastern. It has a fee-based academic support program for students with LDs and ADHD. Since ADHD and executive functioning skills usually go hand-in-hand, you might want to check it out. But, I believe he needs a formal diagnosis of some sort in order to apply. Anyway, something to think about.

I suggest you see how well your son can manage something in his life, like getting a job or submitting college applications on his own. If he manages, great. If he fails, maybe he will realize the need for support. It’s been the clearest way to let our EF challenged child understand he needed help.
Thank you for the suggestion. I have thought about the Honors College possibility, but I am in two minds. Most of the programs cover only the general education requirements (often requiring students tp take a more challenging version of those classes) whereas the biggest problem for engineering students is very large classes for their lower level requirements. But they do provide a smaller, more supported community.
It’s on his list. I will find out more about the LD/ADHD program if he is offered an admission. Thank you!
Good suggestion. We are also planning to ask him to go through some college life prep class next summer.
