Exeter/HADES/boarding school student advice ?

My younger siblings have opted for home tutoring sessions but I worry that their respective tutors are a bit cuckoo in their approach. And I have not seen one textbook (which is very strange).

They left Exeter and I want to know that they will not fall behind.

I am looking for a good textbook set for all subjects.
One of them loves science
The other is bananas about theater and music.
I want to give them an option, don't worry I won't force the books on them.

If you've come across any particularly comprehensive textbooks while at school, lemme hear em.
Thought I'd do research from current students.

They are 15 and 17.

Thanks loads!

I ran across a book that gave precisely this advice a couple of years ago. It was titled something along the lines of “Home Schooling through the Classics” and was pragmatic not only about curriculum, but about timing of taking extracurriculars. For example, have them take 1 year of debate early in HS so they develop critical thinking and public speaking skills, or something like that. Browse a good bookstore, and check out the Homeschooling section.
