Expanded Resume

Couple of questions.

  1. Can I put my senior course load onto the resume? I feel like it’ll show the admissions office that I am rigorous and not slacking off. Also the Academic Index for admission takes into account how far you exceed required UT classes needed.

  2. Should I put my weighted and unweighted GPA? I know UT does not account rank, but I feel like it will give context.

  3. Does anyone know where I can find some templates to immediately start putting on word? I see the examples yes, but they are all pdf’s. I haven’t had luck in finding a template you can straight up use and make your own once opening in word yet.

Thank you

Also, under achievements, can you list group achievements? Like for example, marching band. You could put that the marching band placed 3rd in the state competition. Or does it have to be solo achievements?

Go look at the Apply Texas application form. A lot of the information you are asking questions about is asked for on the application.

Don’t repeat your class description in the expanded resume–it’s in your transcript and the school-specific context is in school report sent from your school.

@EngPII As stated above, could you do group achievements? Or should it strictly be self earned.

@EngPII Especially since they are on state and national levels.

Yes, definitely add Team achievements. State tournaments, Odyssey of the Mind, First Robotics competions, etc. Those are part of Achievement section of the resume. And those are NOT a replacement for the hours spent / bullet point description of what YOU actually did on the team. Designed the controller or organized practice and set up the workshop, etc.
