experiences with CTY summer camp?

<p>Does anyone had children going to CTY lan. 2012? It seemed to be so different. We used to really love CTY. D. had been attending CTY lan. for the past three years. things are different this year. H. and I and several CTY parents have serious concerns about what’s going on there. Watching what it did to some kids in that camp, we decided D. is not going back and S. is never going to do it.</p>

<p>My D completed her 4th summer at Lancaster in 2012 and had, as always, a great time. She did notice that rules seemed stricter, and some of the more cultish transgender activities were much more toned down. Neither caused her much concern, and many of the Lancaster traditions are alive and well in the Annex. A good resource for students opinion is the website
“Real CTY” </p>

<p>She thought the kids in her class fooled around too much, but that is probably due to her being on the older side for the program, and taking a class with mostly younger students.
No reports of unhappy students reached our ears. I also wonder what the parent above is worried about?</p>

<p>personally i think that cty is great for middle school, not so much if you want to do “real work”. the classes are interesting, but can’t compare to taking a real college course which is now offered at many different locations. CTY is more for the nightlife.</p>

<p>I LOVE CTY. I took Chemistry this past summer and got credit for it. It was definitely intensive and fast-paced. And yes, the nightlife at CTY is great. There’s so much culture at the dances too, especially with certain songs that they play (“CTY Canon”).</p>

<p>hey i am going to cty for the first time this summer. I am smart but not anything extraordinary. by some miracle I qualified for intensive studies so am taking fast paced high school biology. I saw that they have pretesting for this, why? and should I prepare for the course a little?
anyhelp would really be appreciated, thanks</p>
