First time poster. My daughter attends a well-regarded NYC independent school, but applied out for HS for the hell of it, and just received her acceptance to Spence. Since it’s a covid year, it has been very difficult to get a sense for the different schools. Rather than making decisions based on 20 year old reputations, what you read in the NY Post, or arbitrary “rankings”, I thought I would post here and hopefully get some color about Spence from people with first-hand knowledge. She and I are particularly interested in: (1) academics, (2) faculty, (3) school culture, (4) administration priorities, (5) parental satisfaction/dissatisfaction, and (6) how the school handled this weird covid year. Thanks in advance for any information you can share!
There are some strong debates about whether to open school or not due to covid. However, that may be the same for most schools with not enough space for proper social distancing.
