We recently did a lab in which we found the molar mass of an unknown volatile liquid by heating and having it undergo condensation. We found the weight of the vapor produced and used the ideal gas law in order to find the number of mols produced. We divided theis number by the weight of the vapor to find the molar mass. Our calculted molar mass was lower than the accepted value. What are some sources fo error?

Do your own homework.

Ok you take the equation you used to find the molar mass, combine them into one function (this sounds familiar) and then analyze each variable to see how the molar mass changes. Usually you can find that you "accidentally" "spilled" something.

Any toher ideas?
