Explaining a drop in grades

Hey Everyone!

Soph. year, I went from an A/B student to a mostly B and 1 C student. I am now a straight A student (junior/senior year).
Here is my explanation:

I realize that my grades during sophomore year do not reflect my abilities and are not consistent with my overall high school performance. I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder during the fall of tenth grade and suffered from drastically low self-esteem;
however, this is no longer the case. When it began to seriously impact my school and personal life, I began attending regular therapy. By the beginning of junior year, I had gained confidence, insight, and techniques that allowed me to control my anxiety. As a result, my grades, outlook, and community involvement improved and are continuing to improve significantly.
What do you think? Is this acceptable, or does it sound like I am asking for pity?

Personally, I think it sounds fine. As long as you explain the causes well enough and demonstrate overcoming it (which you do), you should be fine (at least in terms of the explanation).
