Extra Curricular Ideas for You

anyone who reads this please post some good EC activities and how to get into them that will get one into an ivy(in combination to Good grades and SATs, ofcourse).

There is no "perfect" list of EC's, anyways by now you should have established several if you're a senior. haha what are you going to do, completely fabricate it for your application and get kicked out later if admissions discovers that you lied? I guess if you're extremely good at a sport on a national level, pursue that, otherwise have your EC's make sense. Partake in things that you enjoy, then you will excel in them.

who said i was a senior? i'm a freshman. I NEED IDEAS

Writing a book will automatically vault you to the top of the EC rating scale.

I agree with crazee. There is no "perfect" list of EC's. And remember its quality, not quantity. You need something that will make you stick out amongst all the other brilliant applicants. Try and obtain leadership positions in something that interests you. Maybe find an internship to do over the summer, or go to like SSP or another summer program. Just do something that is going to distinguish you from everyone else. i am also a freshman, so I know how you feel. However, I have a brother that just graduated from Northwestern, and I talk to him about colleges and how to get into ivies and everything. Like for example, this summer I'm going on a teen tour with Musiker Teen Tours for a Community Service 25 day program in South Africa. Just have fun. Good luck.

thanks again soccer man, i'm doing an ethiopia 1o day thing over the summer. Anyway fellow freshman, what EC's do you do?

Bumping Bumping

I'm a fellow freshman. I honestly don't have that many EC's but it's worth a shot.

You've said before that you were 16 years old in another thread, what happened?

Where could you possibly be a freshman at age 16?

Please show me where I said I was 16. I NEVER said that. Find where I said that.

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/high-school-life/438146-what-should-i-do.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/high-school-life/438146-what-should-i-do.html</a></p>

EXACTLY. for my 16th birthday. thats implying that I'm not 16 yet.

yeah but implies that you are nearly sixteen or close to sixteen.

People you find on the internet...amazing. Anyway BUMP!

Be President of everything...

Honestly, chill OUT. You're a freshman.

Do what you want.

Think of it this way - if colleges didn't ask for a list of EC's, what would you do? Study all day (OK, this is extreme)? I think not. You would do EC's which you love - be it founding a video game club, or organizing a ski rally, or whatever.

Just be yourself, that's all I'm telling you. (I'm a sophomore btw)

Good advice by tetrisfan.
