Hi, I know that I am probably the youngest person on this board because I am 13 and will be a Freshman in High School next year!
Anyway, I know you have to take IB or AP classes to get accepted to Harvard (my dream university). I am in Algebra right now in 8th grade and am entering the IB program next year in Geometry, but I want to get ahead and go to Algebra 2.
Does anyone know if there are extra classes you can take for High School Credit, like online Math courses or something, to get a more advanced class? I don't know if I can pay a lot of money. (Yes, I am willing to take the course over the summer). Will talking to my school counselor help?

There's no such thing as IB Geometry. There is no IB program in 9th grade aside from the Middle Years programme. You can't take IB courses over the summer, and as far as I'm aware, 13 year olds can't get jobs.

I'm so confused by your post.

Next year in High school, at my school atleast there are Pre-IB classes (I probably should have specified that). I meant classes I can take so I can skip Geometry to go to the next level.

No you don't. Harvard surely admits people every year who didn't take IB or AP classes. That's a commonplace thing that many United States students do who desire to challenge themselves academically, but that is not the only possible way to prepare for Harvard, and such courses are NOT listed as a formal admission requirement for Harvard anywhere on Harvard's Web site.

Thanks Token! You're a real help! I want to take the IB classes anyway, I do well in regular classes and I feel that I can be challenged that way

or if a high school around you offered Geometry, you could take it and there wont be a big fuss about you getting credit

You can take Geometry at a local community college for credit.
