So it's the summer before my senior year and I just realized that I don't do anything. I play soccer (I suck so no scholarship for that) and am not involved in any clubs. I volunteer at the local baseball field, helped clean up the shore once (hurricane sandy), and was in a political debate, besides those things I don't do anything. My grades are good and I take challenging classes, but my sat is average (1670). How is not having any leadership positions or extracurricular activities going to affect me? Is there anything I can do now?

About 80% of US colleges solely evaluate students based on grades and test scores. Your lack of ECs, leadership, etc. is not a factor if you target those schools.

I saw your target list in another post. I would imagine none of them care about ECs. You can check by googling their “common data sets” and going to section C which clearly states if any ECs are considered.

It depends on the prestige and ranking of the colleges you’re looking to attend. Most state schools and local colleges, or colleges with acceptance rates above about 65% will accept you if you’re academics are up to par. What year are you in now? If you’re a junior, it’s not too late to start something. It’s summer, why not start putting in lots of hours into community service, starting a small business, trying to secure an internship, volunteering as a research assistant, etc.? There’s still time if you’re planing on applying next spring.
