okay. So i was looking over my common app account and I realized that my supplements for some of my Jan 1 schools had never been oficially "submitted"

I sent them just now but I'm extremely confused as the schools had been "checked off" on my app as if they were completed. Also, my mom had called all my schools last week to check that my apps were complete. How screwed am I right now? Im freaking out.

Also weird because my guidance councler submitted my school report and whatnot immediately and he didn’t say a thing about these being missing.

It’s just extremely frustrating because i was never told by anyone that the supplements needed to be submitted seperately and I worked very hard on them and was under the impression they had been submitted well before the final deadline

Your guidance counselor is probably in charge of too may kids too count, so I don’t think he or she would be paying close attention to make sure you did what you were supposed to do.

Either way, I think supplements sent a few days late aren’t that big of a deal. For example, when I got the confirmation email from Boston University, they said make sure you send the supplement in soon. I take this to imply that it didn’t have to be sent with the application. Check your schools’ policies on this.

bluestar - As screwed up as the Common App was this year, I wouldn’t worry about it. I think most schools are giving kids a break. I can guarantee that you’re NOT the only person this happened to!

I would suggest sending the following email to each of the affected schools:

*I am a candidate for the Class of 2018. I submitted my Common App on [fill in the date]. I discovered on [fill in the date] that my supplements had not been submitted, even though they were posted to the Common App website. I submitted them promptly the same day.

I apologize for any confusion, and I hope that my oversight won’t prevent you from treating my application as timely.

Thank you.
