Extremely unsure of a career path? (just got out of hs, I have an AA CS degree)

Hey CC! So I just got out high school, and i have an Associates Degree in Computer Science through dual enrollment.

I’m trying to figure out how to try to start my career in CS, and I feel really clueless about it all because I (and most around me) come from an arts background. I’m confused about at my level what types/levels and where I should be looking for jobs, what plan I should take. In class I did learn everything really well, was able to understand and apply all my concepts. I don’t program in my spare time though, so maybe I should start doing that.

*MAIN QUESTION → * But I just don’t understand how to apply this knowledge to jobs, I feel like that’s something I have to grow outside of the classroom but I’m not sure of how or where to start. If that makes sense?

My plan was to make a small project (just like web app game or something) and then make my resume (which would have nothing basically except my degree and some non-CS stuff) , refresh my data structures and algorithms knowledge, and then just blindly apply to whatever jobs I see. If an interview comes up, make a fool of myself and then learn from it.

Also is the AA degree title useful at all? I doubt it.

Any pointers of guidance? literally any input would be appreciated haha, thank you!

Make yourself a resume. See if you have a past teacher or two in a CS class whom is willing to be a reference. Go out to LinkedIn and search for jobs in your location and field. That is a starting point. Do t worry about a project first. Yes, list your AA degree. Do not put your age on your resume.

Do you know what types of levels of jobs I should be looking for? Mostly I see like project manager and software engineer, a lot of senior jobs, I don’t know what types of jobs I should be looking for.

Your community college should have a career center, resume workshops, job fairs and other resources.

Those are too high level.
