Does FA pkg from School includes Stafford Loans, like when they give you the numbers do they include expected Stafford Loans (`$5500 sub-unsub) in those numbers. ??

Of your college includes loans in their financial aid awards, then yes, the Direct Loan and/or Perkins loans will be included in your financial aid package.

^^ Thanks… I thought same but just want to confirm it.

The FA package I saw provided to my wife’s nephew had those things all specifically called out, not all as one number.

Yes, every different part of the FA awards I have seen is spelled out.

I have never seen a finaid document that did not have everything spelled out line by line.

The ones we received had school merit, state grants, Stafford and parent plus loans all listed. However, they were just estimates as they were given before FAFSA, so the school didn’t yet know if student would qualify for subsidized loans, if parent for Plus loans, or student for work study.

We just received an aid award that had just the merit aid and state grant, not the loans, and will receive another letter with the loans.

Everything was spelled out line by line. We would have subsided loans and unsub loans listed by amount and then they would like an additional amount of direct loans that could be borrowed if needed. Hope that makes sense.

The actual awards our kids received were VERY spelled out. AND they needed to ACCEPT each item offered for the college they chose to attend.
