Facebook or Twitter?

Please. The point of this thread is not to debate with anyone or to judge anyone with/without these things. I just want to know what you guys prefer.

I have neither, but honestly, I think if I had to choose one, I would choose twitter. I've been looking at celebrities twitters lately and it's been an alright experience. I mean to me, Facebook and twitter are essentially the same, but there are inherit differences that differentiate the two. I like that twitter keeps you constantly updated with your favorite celebs/bands/etc. You find more celebs/bands/artists on twitter (and constantly updating) than you do on FB.

Still not enough to make me join twitter but just thought I put it out there haha.

So, which do you prefer, Facebook or Twitter (the neither option remains for those who have neither)?

Google Plus!!! It’s the best of both - you can follow people, you have more control over your information, and the video chat is super awesome :)

I have Facebook, no Twitter.

I really don’t care about people’s status updates most of the time. They’re usually bs like “Amazing boyfriend brought a frozen pizza home and we’re going to watch it on the couch. Chill night ahead.”

That has to be my least favorite part of Facebook. So obviously, a website that seemingly revolves around it would bore me to tears.

I have neither. Both to me seem a bit…hybrid between obnoxious and voyeur-esque.

@PRiNCESSMAHiNA: I agree with that, I made a Twitter to test it out…I got rid of it in less then a week. I am not a fan of knowing what someone is doing every 5 seconds…either on Twitter OR Facebook.

I prefer Twitter. I have a Facebook and I used to use it a lot but now it’s mostly for coordinating stuff for groups and for communicating with people who seem to only use Facebook for talking to people. I use Twitter instead of status updates for sure.

Y’know, there’s talk about the hacker group Anonymous taking down Facebook on the fifth of November. And it wouldn’t really faze me one bit.

I have neither. I’ve considering having FB, but even if I did, I don’t think I’d really care all the time about people’s pointless status updates.

Not just the useless status updates. But I also don’t want the stress of having to manage “friends”. How many people do you know that you would talk to but wouldn’t really count as a friend?

Facebook > Twitter.

I used to have a Twitter when it wasn’t all the rage a two years ago, but I got tired of it easily. You only have 140 characters to say what’s on your mind and there’s not much to do at all. Plus, who’s really listening? Lol.

Facebook. I’d rather talk to my friends than strangers. Plus I use Facebook to organize my social life, lol.

UAKid - way too many. I think if I culled my Facebook friends list to only people I actually consider friends I’d be in the double digits. I cannot comprehend how some people have 1000+ friends. One of my sister’s friends has over 2000 facebook friends. She’s not even someone famous or talented or anything, she’s just some random-ass teenager who posts evocative photos of herself and gets 200 ‘likes.’ ****in’ hell!

Honestly I welcome any attempts to hack and bring it down lol

I just think twitter is cool to stay up to date with your fave celebs/artists/bands/etc. And what’s more awesome is that you don’t need to sign up to see what your fave celebs/artists/bands are doing/up to.

I’m being serious now because all of my posts tonight have been jokes.

Facebook are for nobodys to feel important. Twitter is for celebrities to keep their obsessed fans updated 24/7. I use neither and both disgust me. I hope Anonymous starts by staying true to his word and taking care of the Facebook issue November 5th, 2011. I would love for nothing more but to see Facebook’s demise and see all it’s brainless users run around like chickens with their heads cut off once Facebook is gone.

Boy, I could imagine it now.

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. HOW AM I GOING TO STAY CONNECTED TO MY FRIENDS NOW?!?!?!?!?!?! HOW AM I GOING TO BE INVITED TO EVENTS?!?!?!?!!?!?

I have both, prefer Facebook: it’s actually useful as a communications tool when it comes to events / keeping friends on the loop.

Basically, Facebook is focused on communicating with select individuals while keeping others in on the loop, whereas Twitter is focused on talking about yourself and keeping track of others. It’s a very different market.

The idea is that if I want a general idea of what’s going on in someone else’s life or make that info available about my own life, I go to Twitter. If I want to actually talk to anyone (online) or arrange anything, it’s Facebook.

Facebook is absolutely amazing. My in-person social life has dramatically improved over the last 5 years because of its networking power.

I have Facebook, and aside from allowing me to find all my Army buddies from years back, I could definitely do without it. No one emails me, and I hardly use it.

If I even thought about joining Twitter, I’d have to question my sanity. There is a point where enough is enough. I have a dumb, prepaid cellphone with no games… no smartphonne, no blackberry, no macpad, no i pod, no tablet. Life was fine without these gimmmicks 50 years ago.

I actually preferred myspace and friendster. at least you could link to you tube videos. Facebook is getting so user-unfriendly. I cant ever figure out how to delete pictures… and deleting the whole account seems impossible.

I realllllyyy wish I had never been introduced to either, but now that I have, I just can’t delete them.

Facebook- SO evil, but I actually know people on there.

Twitter- Don’t know anyone, which isn’t so bad because it gives me the freedom to speech my mind, rant and complain. (I don’t do much of that on facebook.)

About 1 year ago, there was a heated debate ober whether you “need” a facebook (for employment or networking). Some seemed to think facebook was permanent… gosh, Faacebook WILL fade as competition provides several alternatives. Same with Twitter.

“HOW AM I GOING TO STAY CONNECTED TO MY FRIENDS NOW?!?!?!?!?!?!”

That would actually be an issue for me. I have friends from all over the world that I keep in touch with through Facebook. I don’t have anybody’s email addresses (I only use email for school, after all) and I would lose contact with just about everybody if Facebook were disabled like that.
