Some students have posted on Facebook they have been admitted to USC. I will only post the minimum amount of information to protect their privacy. This is just to let you know there are students who just received letters.

I’m only a little embarrassed to say that I’ve been checking general facebook posts daily to see where people are getting in from…but there seems to be very few people on facebook who have–at least openly–gotten admitted to USC (I can’t find more than 25 in the past few days.). Hmm…where I am its just ASSUMED you’ll put it in your status when you get in to a school…either that’s not the case everywhere, or there really have only been a few sent admission packets so far. I’m choosing to believe the latter, because it gives me much relief that I’m not alone.

Here is the location where I am finding reports of students who posted the good news:

USC Class of 2014-Official

Last year there were hundreds who posted on the 2013 thread. This year there are very few, considering the number of applicants.

It takes a bit more time, but go to the Discussion line at the top of the page. Click that.
Topics are listed. Present students are answering a few questions. I recommend the music industry discussion as there are enthusiastic present SC students who have posted information about their experiences.

Are these students who have been admitted and are now committed to going?

I ask since my S won’t be making a final decision until all his colleges report in, and he has five to go. I’m betting he’d find it strange to do a FB posting if he wasn’t 100% sure of going to USC, although he’s presently leaning this way. :)

On the USC Facebook Class of 2014 two current students initiated the page and theme. Students have been posting, but nothing near the number from last year. The students wrote it was not necessary to commit to post your acceptance. A few accepted seniors have indicated they are waiting to hear from other choices.

The vast majority appear to be thrilled with acceptance and have started a search amongst themselves looking for roommates. As might be expected the music, theatre, Marshall and CSA students appear particularly enthusiastic.

Until those financial aid packages are received by the families involved I would expect there will be some students who will have to change options due to finances.
