For all you Facebookers out there, I'd just thought I'd say that I generally do not enjoy the new layout. It's a little invasive, don't you think?

totally - it's stalker's haven.

i cant agree more..i really dont want to know what shawn did to earl today..

Yeah. It's pretty annoying. I think they are trying to do too much.

wow. too much detailed info i dont need nor care to know.

it goes as far as telling me xxxx has removed "blah blah" from their favorite music, xxxx has joined "blah blah" group, and wall conversations between other friends?! w-t-f?! i dont care what they're talking about!

Next thing you know they'll be saying "So and so is now scratching their ass."

Facebook has gone downhill ever since it opened itself to high-schoolers. Every "innovation" since has made profiles more bloated and require more maintenance, and the fact that it added Flash banners in 2005 after originally promising "not to sell out" back in 2003 is tantamount to treason. With this new "stories" garbage in our profiles, Facebook is truly the new MySpace.

Too much clutter - I agree with flopsy. Facebook used to be a simple layout, but now is transforming into myspace. If facebook has tools to "add layouts" or lame stuff like that, then I definitely would stop using it.

The Newscorp Myspace acquisition was the absolute worst thing that could happen for social networking users. What started as a decently fun and innocent way to keep up with friends has spiraled into what the industry is mistakenly betting on as the new money maker and now everyone wants a piece. Facebook is racking up allllllllll kinds of deals that, while making the dude lots and lots of money, are making the site progressively worse.

But people still use it so they don't care.

I contest that Facebook starting going downhill when it stopped it's "exclusivity" thing and opened up to community colleges and the like. It was fun when facebook was for the universities and myspace was for the plebians and predators and everyone else. Opening it up screwed over its initial base.

Too much information, too much information, too much information.

Ok and I just looked at it. Yo, I DO NOT care who some girl I knew from middle school recently added as a friend.

This is really stalker style.

Not good.

The site is totally freaking me out. And is there even a way to make the News Feed go away? I seriously don't want to know all this information. It's like they think we are gossip addicts or something.

Maybe if they had like one random "news feed" on each page or something, you might glance at it once in awhile. But to cover the whole page? Plus it details everything you do on your facebook profile. Is there no privacy anymore??? Is there any way we can complain?

I agree, waaay too much info. But it's still not as sleazy as MySpace. I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that once I leave, in order to socially network, I'm going to have to lower myself to that. Should I take the ubiquitous shirtless-reflection-in-the-mirror photo now, or later?

whoaa, i just saw the new layout, its so confusing. I agree that all the new newsfeed stuff is completely unwanted.

Does anybody know how we can contact facebook to 'voice our concerns'?

I sent them a "suggestion". It's in the Help section.

yeah facebook has turned to crap now. i was like...what the heck is this? i dont know to know what everyone is doing...and i certainly dont like knowing that everyone knows what im doing on facebook.

I disabled my Facebook a long time ago....I don't see the point to the whole thing, but it seems some people are really obsessed with it. It's amazing that people will post pretty much everything about their personal life on the internet. I remember browsing some of the UCLA profiles and people have listed (along with their pictures) their phone#, address, and room#

it's horrible.

I don't see why everyone is going insane over this whole news feed thing. If you really don't care what others are doing, then just don't read those news feeds! And if you feel that its a invasion to your privacy, well, truth is, you shouldn't be publicizing your personal life on the web in the first place anyway! geessssssh people..

ok, all this information was public already. i know that. but IMO theyre just doing too much. profile updates? ok. photo updates and comments? sure. but why do we need stuff like who other people added as friends, who other people dropped as friends, other people's wall-to-wall conversations, etc BROADCASTED IN DETAIL to EVERYONE who's your "friend" on facebook?!

i disagree with your "just dont read it" comment. ignorance is not bliss. just because you ignore it doesnt mean its not there. its not that we dont care what other people are doing (though thats a big part of it), but we dont want every single miniscule detail about whatever we do on facebook broadcasted for everyone to see. if you dont like the iraq war are you just going to ignore all the media coverage and pretend its not taking place? of course not.
