Does a students income matter if you qualify for an automatic zero EFC by your parents income? if not, can a student earn as much possible and still have an automatic zero EFC by just the parents income.

Student income doesn’t matter if the parents qualify for the auto 0, so yes, the student can earn as much as possible. But it takes more than just an AGI under $24k to qualify for the auto 0. It takes one of the other qualifiers listed on pages 4 & 5 of this link. And the qualifying AGI could change for 2016-17.
