Daughter was dual enrolled for one class at college. We were told the high school was going to pay for the class because she already took everthing they taught for that subject. They did pay then she gets a 1098-T in the mail in her name. She asked the GC if we had to claim on the fafsa and he said no thats just how they do it. I just want to make sure we claim it, if we have to. On the form in box 4 it says scholarships or grants also says info furnished to the IRS. What do you think, did any of you get the 1098 forms and how did you handle them?

come to think of it, we got that too. I just ignored it....

good question! I hope someone comes up with an answer

I guess I could call the school tomorrow and ask.....

I got one, too and didn't worry about it. Although taken at the college, the class was taken for high school credit, so I see no need to claim scholarship income. It wasn't actually a scholarship anyway, just the high school covering their students' education.

Thanks,Im not going to do anyithing with it. The GC must be thinking the same as Susantm it was for high school credit.
