FAFSA-Balance in Checking Account

So financial aid gave me about $5,400, and I got a $1,000 scholarship, and I immediately deposited into my account. However, I have about $7,000 in my bank as of now.
For the question
"41. Total current balance of cash, savings, and checking accounts. Include the balance of your (and your spouse's) savings and checking accounts as of the date the FAFSA is completed. Do not include student financial aid."
Would I just type in $600 for that question since it tells me to not include student aid?

Thank you,

Yes. Do keep evidence of this in case you are selected for verification and asked. Also, if you have any things that you need to pay out of that $600, or reimburse your parents, do it and get as little as possible of your own money in that account as 20 cents of each dollar you report goes directly onto your EFC. No more that about 5 cents goes if it 's your parent’s.

Did the FA office give you $5400 + $1000 in cash or checks, which you then deposited? Is this money to cover your off-campus rent and food? (This would be a pretty unusual situation, unless you have a full-ride financial aid package which covers virtually ALL your expenses.)
