FAFSA EFC

I recently got accepted into the summer term for my freshman year and I was told that I needed to submit a 2016-2017 FAFSA application. I completed the application and my EFC was about $800. I just dont understand why it came out to be high, when my 2017-2018 FAFSA EFC was $0, and all the information was obviously identical because I used the same application information. I’m sorry if I come across as spoiled or anything, I’m really not trying to sound like I’m complaining about such a low EFC in comparison to others, but I come from a household with a single parent and 4 children. FAFSA was really the only option I had into getting into college, so I’m just really worried about the pricing.

Also I guess I’ll throw this question in here too, but if your only attending summer term do you still have to pay for the entire annual cost of a school?

I.E: if a school is priced at $17,295 annually, and I attend just the summer term, am I paying the full annual price or is it a different price for summer term kids?

Thank you so much! O:-)

Will you be attending this college in the fall also?

You will pay for the summer term…and then if you continue, you will pay for the fall and spring terms.

If you are not enrolling for,a degree at that summer college, you will not be eligible for financial aid for the summer.
