FAFSA - how to send to additional schools?

There were only 6 [i think]blank spaces for the colleges that will receive the FAFSA information, but I have 3 more schools to send to and I can't find any place where I can do that. Can anyone help me ASAP?

Once your initial FAFSA (with 6 schools) is processed and you get an email with your EFC, go back and submit a correction to the FAFSA. Get rid of the original 6 schools and put in the 3 other ones.

There are also some other ways to do this.. Just click the "help" button on the page where you enter colleges.

what are the other ways?

"Once your initial FAFSA (with 6 schools) is processed and you get an email with your EFC, go back and submit a correction to the FAFSA. Get rid of the original 6 schools and put in the 3 other ones."

You know, I read that a thousand times before from other posts, but I never thought it would apply to me; I was applying online and thought that surely there wouldn't be such a ridiculous restriction on an online form. I am wrong, aren't I? I'm filling it out now and it's not making me happy.

How long till the initial FAFSA is processed? I have deadlines to make...

it was less than a day for me

On my status page it said that my corrections were processed but I did not recieve an email yet and it has been a week. Is it safe to correct it without getting the email first?

Hm that's weird, here's the email I got concerning the subject:

Once the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has been submitted, information cannot be changed until processing is complete. If you attempt to make corrections before processing is complete, your record will not be found.

You may check the status of the application by accessing the FAFSA on the Web site at www.fafsa.ed.gov and clicking "Check Status of a Submitted FAFSA." You may also check the status of your FAFSA by calling the Federal Student Aid Information Center at the number below.

The FAFSA will allow data to be made available to 6 schools at a time. To have the FAFSA information available to more than 6 schools, it is necessary first to remove a school in order to create a place for a new school to be added.

It is important that schools have access to complete and accurate information, including taxes and required signatures, before being replaced with a new school. Please note that updated information is available to schools currently listed on the FAFSA and will not be made available to schools that are no longer listed.

So it would appear to me that you would need to make sure that the college has received the FAFSA stuff before you delete it off your list. I checked the status for my application at Columbia, and it said that they won't be able to download FAFSA info until March.... so it would seem to me that by processing the app, FAFSA only makes the info available to the schools, but the schools still have to download it... Am I correct on this? I hope I'm not, the last thing I have to worry about is adding colleges to my FAFSA list, and I'm worried about it cause I don't know when to add them and when to delete three schools off my list. If I could just delete them now and assume that they already got my info, I wouldn't have to worry about my FAFSA stuff being incomplete still.

**HELP*
if your family makes more than 100k, should you even file Cal Grant??

i just want to make sure .. this .. thing..

as cob has said, do i need to ensure that colleges have already received my file??
also it seems like they will nolonger get updates i will make (and i will ;; )

please help me.

well check with the colleges before you delete them. I mean you might as well since it won't harm you. For me I was able to check with about 3 or 4 colleges and I could safely delete them. If your deadline is coming up though and you still don't know what to do, i'd just delete as many as you need to and just do it. If you've gotten your SAR and everything, I think you're ok...
