FAFSA question regarding parents' schooling

I asked this question of the "expert" who put on a seminar at our high school. She had no answer so I'm turning to the well informed folks on this forum!

I have read about scholarships on a couple different college web sites that give preference to students whose parents have not graduated from a 4-year college or university. I want to make sure my son is considered for these as both his father and I graduated from trade schools. My thought is that he should check the "Other/unknown" option since there is no option for AA degrees or trade school certifications. Would that be correct? (I'm looking at the printed version, so maybe the online version will be different??)

Yes, i agree, since there isnt an option, for some post high school, then have him check/ other.
