FAFSA won't save?

So I began my FAFSA back in January and filled out everything up to the self-reported financial information. My dad was in the process of doing his tax return at the time so we were thinking of holding off before completing it.

The other day, I accessed the site for the first time in about two weeks to modify my schools listing: but when I entered my name, SSN and date of birth, the site prompted me to create a password as if I hadn't made an account prior. I entered my previous password, and was then given the option to start a 2011-2012 FAFSA! The button that ordinarily lets you continue work on it was nowhere to be found, and sure enough, the form was completely empty and sitting back at the Student Demographics tab.

I'd simply assumed they wipe incomplete ones every month or so for security purposes - not a big deal, it doesn't take long to fill out all of that information again. I saved, logged out and logged back in to be sure that the FAFSA saved properly: it did.

I logged back on today however, and the exact same issue occurred. Anybody else experiencing this oddity? Yes, I have cookies enabled and haven't been clearing my cache between sessions. I've been using Internet Explorer to fill this out, since all of these high-brow government websites seem to occasionally have hiccups with Chrome and Firefox.

i noticed the same problem a couple of days ago. Its annoying reentering all of the information again when it should of saved correctly

Yes, the same thing happened to me today. Finished it last night, saved it and printed summary report. Went to sign in this morning to submit and prompted me to create a password and start all over. Luckily the info is not to difficult to input. Glad all is submitted now.

Same happened to us - very annoying as we have two to do - it doesn’t’ take too long to fill each one out but it is nonetheless annoying.

Hm, guess it’s a problem on their end then. Just curious before I submit mine: assuming once it’s filed it’s safe and sound.
