I have gotten a test back and I am officially failing chem. I studied quite a lot for the test so I'm quite upset. So I was wondering how did you guys study for chem? I was reading Study Guide for Zumdahl/Zumdahl's Chemistry,8th: Steven S. Zumdahl,Susan A. Zumdahl: 9780547168722: Amazon.com: Books instead of the textbook but the questions in that book seemed very easy compared to the ones on the test. So CC please help me out I want to succeed in this class how should i study?

We use that book, too…well the textbook, not the study guide. The questions are easy compared to the test…? You mean the last questions, the challenge questions, are easy? No, they aren’t. I mean once you get the hang of them you’re set, but in my opinion the exam questions are easier than some of the books, if not, the same.

My chemistry teacher doesn’t give us a review or anything name says we’re having a chapter test and you’re responsible for what’s in that chapter. I go concept by concept making sure I’m able to do all the problems such as redox or collecting a gas over water or titrations or finding the mass percent of a sample. Just keep doing problems after problems.

My teacher also grades like the AP exam. One point fr correct equation. One point for correct answer an the like. What does your teacher do?

^ My teacher does the same thing.

Just as Niquii77 said, make sure you know each section well, and the concepts behind the math. We don’t use the book your using, we Chemistry: The Central Science 11th AP Edition, and in our book it gives you a concept outline for each chapter. Practice is important, but just chugging problems all the time isn’t proficient. My way for studying AP Chemistry is to recall the information I’ve learned to my family and this will help me decided if I really now the material or not. Good Luck.

one way not to study is to waste your time reading about the polyatomic ions or chemical compounds on wikipedia.
